ABOUT
Originally from Beckley, West Virginia, Isabella Yee enjoys a diverse and vibrant career as a performing artist. As an orchestral player, she appears regularly with the Greenville Symphony, and has been a substitute player for New World Symphony since 2024. She has also been a section player with the New England Chamber Orchestra and Long Bay Symphony.
Isabella graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee where she was the highest ranking academic member of her graduating class. She received her Bachelor of Music in Performance studying under Professor Rictor Noren. During her time at the conservatory, she was concertmaster for the conservatory's inaugural Carnegie Hall performance for the United Nations General Assembly Gala Concert in December of 2025. She has been concertmaster, assistant concertmaster, and principal second for many other conservatory performances in venues such as the BSO's Symphony Hall, NEC's Jordan Hall and Sanders Theatre. She was also a featured soloist in 2023 with Hemenway Strings for Vivaldi's Autumn. In 2025 she was a finalist in the conservatory concerto competition.
In 2026, Isabella Yee was a chamber music fellow at the Sarasota Orchestra Music Festival, and was invited to attend Brevard Music Center as a Teaching Assistant. During her time at Brevard, she was concertmaster under JoAnn Falletta and led the orchestra in the world premiere of Ellen Taaffe Zwilich's Viola Concerto with Paul Neubauer. She has also worked with artists such as Gil Shaham, Barbara Nissman, Geneva Lewis, Leonardo Soto, and Ying Li.
Isabella studied violin pedagogy under Rictor Noren and has experience with coaching excerpts and orchestral players. While at the Brevard Music Center, she ran sectionals for the violinists of the high school division. She uses the Suzuki method for beginning students. She has been working with students of all levels for 6 years, and her students have gone on to perform in All State Orchestra, and be a part of prestigious preparatory schools like the Peabody Preparatory Institute at Johns Hopkins University.
